PRESS RELEASE

‘Nothing to Hide’ (to be released August 29th, 2022) merges folk and contemporary pop worlds through its lyric-driven melodies and quiet intensity. The song is at once meditative, pensive, and catchy. Harmonies melt over melodic synth riffs, and the song delivers the message that we must cultivate the courage to shed the layers of who we think we should be in order to find the freedom to be who we truly are.

'Nothing to Hide' showcases a new contemporary sound and follows Of Candor's 2021 single 'Won't Go Away' and debut EP 'Heart in Many Places' (2016).

ABOUT THE ARTIST/BIO

Of Candor is an Edmonton based folk/pop artist whose music has earned her an Edmonton Music Awards nomination and a main stage slot at Kaleido Family Arts Festival (2019). Her music is influenced by the songwriting and sounds of other folk and pop artists Luca Fogale, Donovan Woods, and Phoebe Bridgers. With captivating melodies and dreamy textures, Of Candor’s music is introspective and catchy. The lyrics of her songs accessibly capture an inner dialogue shaped by themes of discovery, self-doubt, and growth. It is through these feelings of darkness that we can begin to bring in our own light.

Growing up an introvert and the youngest of five children, she could often be found quietly writing in her bedroom – be it music, fictional stories, or in her journal. She continues to explore art and expression of the human experience through her music. To date, Of Candor has shared the stage with such talented acts as Scenic Route to Alaska, Sister Ray, Kenzie Jane, and Josh Sahunta in venues and festivals in Alberta. She has also been featured on local TV through Shaw TV's, "Edmonton Unplugged".
